Congressman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.) will tour a Hillsborough County citrus grove Monday, Jan. 26, to view damage caused by the recent freezing temperatures. He will also receive a briefing on damage to citrus and fruit and vegetables across the state. Putnam has said that if damage is significant he will ask Speaker Pelosi and President Obama to expedite any disaster relief or other appropriate assistance to help Florida farmers to recover.

Where: Lou Ross Citrus, 14848 Balm Rd.
Directions:
From Plant City go south on State Road 39 (Plant City-Picnic Rd) to State Road 672 (Balm-Picnic Road).
Turn west on SR 672 and proceed approximately three miles (past the sign for Lou Ross Citrus, the site is a grove west of the shop). A gate will be open and someone standing by to direct traffic.
From Tampa go south on I-75. Exit on SR 672 (Big Bend Road) and proceed east to State Highway 301.
Turn south on 301 and proceed to Balm Road (672)
Turn east on Balm Road (672), continue for approximately 12 miles. Just past the county landfill, a gate will be open on the left, with someone standing to direct traffic.
Since 2001, Putnam has represented Florida’s 12th Congressional District, which includes most of Polk County and portions of Hillsborough and Osceola counties.
